The surveillance powerhouse continues expansion across Europe and the Middle East to meet demand for next generation DirectIP™ surveillance

 

BRENTFORD, LONDON, 21 AUGUST 2014 – IDIS has appointed John Psyllos to the role of Product Manager reporting to Brian Song, Managing Director, IDIS Europe based out of the Korean manufacturers European headquarters in Brentford, London.
 
John joins IDIS to lead DirectIP™ product management across Europe and the Middle East. His appointment strengthens the IDIS commitment to further develop third party integrations which deliver powerful off-the-shelf functionality to increase the flexibility and cost effectiveness of DirectIP™ full-HD surveillance solutions.  John will work closely with IDIS technical support as well as the sales and marketing team to increase sales of the DirectIP™ line up by developing and maintaining high levels of product value, quality and industry recognition.

 

John brings with him extensive security industry experience across technical design, engineering, project and account management. An electronic and IT network engineer with a deep understanding of IP surveillance technology, John spent over ten years with leading UK security systems integrator, First City Care. In his most recent role as a technical design consultant, John oversaw the implementation and maintenance of tightly integrated security solutions within London headquartered corporate enterprises.

 

Commenting on his appointment, Brian Song, Managing Director at IDIS Europe, said, “I am confident John will further strengthen our DirectIP™ integration capability and rich functionality, to meet the growing demand for seamlessly integrated security solutions from across a range of markets.  I’m delighted that John is already a fantastic addition to our team, and will ensure IDIS continues to be the partner of choice for our customers.”

John holds a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa as well as Cisco and Microsoft certifications. He has also held various engineering and training roles at Siemens Telecoms.

BRENTFORD, LONDON, 07 AUGUST 2014 – IDIS and Security Supplies, have signed a strategic partnership that sees the independent security systems distributor offering IDIS DirectIP™, the award-winning, full-HD surveillance solution, through its network of branches in the UK.

 

 

The announcement follows DirectIP™ training for over twenty installers hosted at Security Supplies headquarters last month.  The IDIS technical team demonstrated DirectIP™ as the perfect solution for installers to upgrade their customers from legacy analogue CCTV to high definition (HD) surveillance, without the complexity often associated with many IP systems. Featuring plug-and-play implementation coupled with high-performance technology, DirectIP™ eliminates the need for IP addressing and a deep knowledge of networks, to offer a cost effective networked and HD surveillance solution that can be deployed in hours.


 


Under the partnership agreement, Security Supplies combines its thirteen year track record and extensive industry knowledge, with dedicated and expert DirectIP™ sales and technical support across a range of security projects from surveillance upgrades through to highly integrated security solutions.

IDIS customers can now harness the power and high-performance DirectIP™ surveillance through their partner alarm receiving centres, central stations or in-house command centres. 
The integration enables essential DirectIP™ video surveillance features from the Immix® platform, including live view with multi-layout, playback, two-way audio with remote alarm notification and instant video verification

BRENTFORD, LONDON, 24 JULY 2014 – DirectIP™, the groundbreaking total security and surveillance solution from IDIS, was named “Technology Innovation of the Year” at the 2014 PSI Premier Awards. The awards, organised by security installer publication PSI Magazine, recognise the industry’s best and most popular offerings in several key categories.  

 

 

PSI selects finalists annually, in consultation with industry insiders and experts.  The magazine’s readers, from the security installer community and beyond, are then invited to choose winners via electronic ballot. PSI states that finalists, including DirectIP™, are chosen due to industry excellence in “features, benefits, ease of installation and best service,” while noting that category winners reflect the preferences and popular sentiments of the security community, as well.

DirectIP™ Network Video Recorder from IDIS Receives Highest Rating in Respected Publication’s Product Round-up Following Independent Testing

 

BRENTFORD, LONDON, 15 JULY 2014 – Benchmark Magazine, the UK-based publication dedicated to “driving innovation in the security industry,” recently completed an independent test of the IDIS DR6116P Network Video Recorder (NVR). The magazine awarded the IDIS NVR a rating of 85, featuring the results of the product test in its July 2014 issue, where IDIS received the highest rating of all NVRs featured in the magazine’s round up.



 

In its review, Benchmark Magazine lists the DR6116P NVR as a “recommended” product, noting the robust features and functionality of the IDIS NVR.  The magazine describes products given a “recommended status” as those that have “no obvious flaws or performance issues, do not lack credibility and have been designed for simple installation and operation.” With regard to the IDIS DR6116P, the magazine specifically mentions the integrated provision of the IDIS Center software package, “to deliver remote connectivity and system control,” and speaks to the NVR’s place as part of IDIS’s one-stop-shop DirectIP total solution.  It notes that ONVIF devices may be used with the DVR and that IDIS offers a “true plug and play,”  simple to configure, networked surveillance solution.
