For audio detection, the device (ex. DirectIP camera) calculates the average power of audio signal that is transmitted for specific times (6.5 seconds).
If current audio signal’s power is much higher than the power threshold of audio signal (based on the average power of audio signal), then audio detection is enabled.
1. Gather audio signal for 6.5 seconds
2. Calculate the average power of audio signal
3. Compare current power of audio signal with the power threshold of audio signal
4. Decide whether audio is detected or not.
The threshold of power level is determined by the audio sensitivity level.
* Sensitivity level 1: two times (6dB) higher than the average power of audio signal
Externel IP address means the IP address on the public internet side. Commonly our PC might has the internal IP address range which is assigned from gateway such as NAT(Network address translation).
NAT help us to use one public internet IP over many network devices.
The reason that you have to check the external IP address is that it is needed to connect the NVR or camera from the internet. The client uses the external IP to reach the target.
You can check the external IP address if you visit the following sites.
DDNS is Dynamic DNS(Domain Name System).
ISP(Internet Service Provider) is changing periodically a IP address to use limited IP range effectively.
To maintain the connectivity with the server anytime, the client has to know the IP address of the server.
But it’s not easy to track the IP address which is being changed constantly.
Therefore, DDNS is needed.
To minimize packet loss, the wiring have to be aligned exactly accoding to the standard.
The ordinaly alignment is called 568A and 568B. It was established by TIA(Telecomunications Industry Association)/EIA(Electronic Industries Alliance).
Cable alignment 568A and 568B are below.
Pins on patch cord
If the both end patch are assambled as T568B, the cable can be used for ordinary LAN cable for CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6.
In case of crossover cable, one of patch cords shall be type of T568A, another one shall be type of T568B. Nowadays most ethernet adaptors support to recognize the type of the connector between T568A and T568B.
No. Currently, eSATA ports in NVR do not support hot swapping. So, you should connect eSATA storage to NVR before NVR is powered up. Otherwise, NVR does not recognize eSATA storage. On the other hand, if eSATA storage is swapped out while NVR is working, NVR can detect that situation and record data to another HDD.
Yes. NVR can retrieve and display the recoded audio/video data in HDD carried from another NVR.
