27 Camera Q. PoE power consumption of DC-S3583 and DC-S3883 series. 2018-06-25
A.

DC-S3583HRX and DC-S3883HRX are new speed dome camera models.

These speed dome cameras take more PoE power consumption than the existing speed dome camera models.

Power consumption of the popular speed dome models DC-S1263 and DC-S1283 series ranges from 10.6W to 24.3W(Heater on).

However, DC-S3583HRX and DC-S3883HRX take maximum 68.6W with heaters and IR LEDs on.

So common PoE switches with IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at cannot provide enough power for the cameras.

Please consider using the power adaptor provided in the package of the cameras or PoE injectors meet the power consumption of the cameras.

23 Camera Q. What should I do when I see pink or purple images from a camera? 2017-06-19
A.

Please check if IR cut filter works properly.

When IR cut filter is switching, you will be able to hear a clicking sound from a camera.

There are two ways to hear the sound of IR cut filter switching, one is to reboot a camera and the other is to switch the filter manually on a setup page of a camera.

As a camera boots up, it switches IR cut filter and you can hear a clicking sound.

Or, go to Remote Setup page of a camera and change IR Cut Filter option to "Daytime Mode" so that the camera can switch the filter manually.

If you do not hear a clicking sound from a camera when you expect to hear the sound, it would be likely to be a hardware issue, please contact the distributor who you purchased the camera or IDIS Technical Support team.

22 Camera Q. What should I do if One Push function does not work and a camera remains out of focus? 2017-06-12
A.

The most likely reason is that somebody opened up IR LED part and fiddled the Zoom lens before. Then the actual location of step motor in zoom lens and where the software thinks the step motor are different, and the difference makes one push malfunction.

To reset the Zoom lens,

1)    Press “Near” button on controller in PTZ mode on a NVR screen so that the Zoom lens can get as wide as it can get.

2)    Press One Push, then it will be focused.

21 Camera Q. What are the camera models supporting Face Detection feature? 2017-06-12
A.

  • DC-S1283(W, H, F, X) - v1.1.0 or higher
  • DC-D2233WHX, DC-T1233WHX - v1.0.0 or higher
  • DC-S1283WRX - v1.0.0 or higher
20 Camera Q. Why the cameras do not synchronize the time? 2016-09-05
A.

For the cameras, DC-F1211A, DC-F1211, DC-F1111, DC-E1112WR, and  DC-E1212WR, the time setting will be changed randomly when the cameras reboot because their RTC(Real Time Clock) do not have batteries. For this reason, “Time Sync“ setting is necessary to automatic synchronize the time after reboot.

On DirectIP mode, the cameras do synchronize the time automatically without “Time Sync” setting because DirectIP protocol is auto-configuration oriented mode, but for the cameras running on IDIS protocol mode, the cameras do not time-synchronization unless a user manually configure the time on the menu, "Time Sync. This configuration can be set up from the camera remote setup.

Privacy masks is a feature that masking some area where the user doesn’t want to show.
The masked area will not be shown in either live mode or playback. These areas don’t contain any image data. Only black boxes can be seen on the screen.
Up to 16 areas for privacy masking can be set on the image.

16 Camera Q. How to upgrade IP camera's firmware 2015-07-06
A.

The firmware files are different from each type of camera.
You have to prepare a firmware file(.rui) that is suitable for the camera.

1) From DirectIP NVR
In Setup > Camera > Upgrade, you can upgrade cameras directly from NVR.
Firmware files should be stored in the USB memory stick which will be connected to the NVR.

2) From IDIS Discovery
To upgrade the camera from IDIS Discovery, both PC and Camera must be in the same subnet. Verify the IP address first before trying to upgrade.
The menu for the upgrade can be found from the Management in the top menu bar.

15 Camera Q. What is the IK rating? 2015-07-06

14 Camera Q. How to display an analog video (CVBS) output of an IP camera? 2015-07-06
A.

Some Network cameras have CVBS analog video output port so it can be seen through a portable monitor.
It is utilized for making the image more focused and setting view angle.
When the camera operates in IDIS protocol, Video format between NTSC and PAL is selectable in Setup > Video > Camera > Miscellaneous.

In the case of WDR camera,
There is a condition to output the analog signal. CVBS analog video signal might not be generated from the camera. It’s a limitation of the SoC chip on the WDR camera.
If the 4th stream is not set (only 3 streams are operating), CVBS will perform well.
In DirectIP NVR, if the custom field for recording is not set, CVBS will be outputted.

13 Camera Q. RTSP stream commands of IDIS IP cameras 2015-07-06
A.

To receive stream via RTSP(Real Time Streaming Protocol), RTSP player is required.

VLC player is one of the most popular players.(http://www.videolan.org/)

The command line for playing remote live video via RTSP is below.

rtsp://ID:Password@IPaddress:RTSP port number/trackID=‘channel number
