  • IDIS TO GO VIRTUAL WITH AN ONLINE SHOWCASE

Following the cancellation of global tradeshows due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are excited to bring you our latest technology online with the ability to virtually tour the IDIS booth. This September, we will showcase a deep learning AI appliance that will support safe working practices and government regulations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Features include social distance monitoring, people counting, density control, and mask detection, together with a live dashboard and reporting tools. Visitors will also get a first look at the new iteration of the IDIS Mobile Plus app, designed to increase efficiency and support the increasing need for remote management. Users will find a friendlier user interface, additional functionality, and integration with both IDIS Center and IDIS Solution Suite VMS. Plus, the IDIS web client is set to be transformed into the cybersecure, true, all-in-one IDIS Cloud Manager. This will allow users to manage individual sites and branches, monitor 64-channel layouts, and control their entire surveillance solution from a web browser down to device-level. So be sure to look out for an invitation with more details that will be coming soon!

  • IDIS INSTANT META FILTERING SHORTLISTED FOR TOP GIT SECURITY AWARD

We are delighted that IDIS Instant Meta Filtering has been recognized as an important advance for small-to-medium users of video tech, with shortlisting for the annual GIT Security Awards. It is a finalist in the Video and Security Systems (C) category because of its new approach to opening up the use of analytics to a broader range of organizations. IDIS is one of the first vendors to make metadata filtering tools available to smaller users free of charge – the tech is included as a powerful new tool within the cost and license-free IDIS Center VMS when deployed with our new range of IDIS 6000 Series Edge VA cameras. • SUPERMARKET GIANT CARREFOUR BOOSTS EFFICIENCY AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE WITH IDIS

Carrefour is one of the best-known supermarket chains in the world, and when the security team in Jordan asked systems integrator Ametrad Technology Services to upgrade their video surveillance they recommended IDIS technology. Carrefour wanted a solution that would provide a user-friendly interface for authorized retail staff, and a full featured, centralized monitoring and control environment for the security team. The IDIS Solutions Suite VMS proved to be the perfect platform. Among the most interesting features with this project, Ametrad is deploying IDIS VA in the Box analytics to provide each store with heatmapping, people counting, queue management, and intelligent reporting capabilities.

  • LOCKED DOWN, BUT NOT SLOWING DOWN! NEW WAYS TO SUCCEED DURING THE PANDEMIC

Nicky Stokes, managing director of leading security systems integrator, ISD Tech, provides some great post-COVID success strategies for systems integrators. He tells us how his company has remained busy despite economic disruption, and advises that one of the best ways to protect your business is to develop a more diverse customer portfolio – so that when projects are delayed or cancelled in one sector, new growth areas more than make up for it. And he says working with IDIS has really helped him win opportunities with new customers, for example by finding rapid solutions to changing customer challenges. “IDIS is very agile compared with some of the other bigger manufacturers who have much slower processes,” he writes.
