In surveillance monitoring, ensuring rapid situational awareness and response is one of the principal challenges operators face. Taking too long to locate a crucial scene from a vast amount of video footage means the golden opportunity to detect a threat may be missed, potentially leading to serious security or safety breaches. To address this issue, IDIS has developed an AI-powered technology called A-Cut, which tracks detected objects in video footage. It automatically extracts the most representative scenes for each object and provides them as cropped images. The representative cropped image is generated for each object in a video stream, allowing users to quickly identify the object’s type and features at a glance.
By clicking on the cropped image, users are taken directly to the moment in the video where the object appears. As a result, A-Cut significantly enhances real-time monitoring efficiency, helping security personnel recognize and respond to incidents. An IDIS video solution has been deployed to protect the multi-million-pound redevelopment of a historic building in London’s Square Mile, creating over 27,000 square meters of multi-store office and retail space.
